Tourism in Mallorca


Mallorca is also known as Majorca. It is an island which is situated in the Mediterranean Sea. It is the biggest island amongst the Balearic Islands archipelago in Spain. Palma is the capital of this island which is the capital of the autonomous community of Balearic Islands as well. These islands were an autonomous place of Spain from 1983. The Cabrera Archipelago is merged administratively with Mallorca. The national anthem of the island is La Balanguera. Similar to the rest of the Balearic Isands of Formentera, Minorca and Ibiza, this island is a very famous one with respect to holiday destination, especially for the tourists from United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Canada, United States as well as Scandinavian countries. One of the busiest international airports of Spain, Palma de Mallorca Airport is located here. It was used in 2014 by over 23.1 million passengers.
